Account & data deletion

1. How deletion works

vaeloai.in is a school-managed platform. Your school is the primary Data Fiduciary. Fee and academic records may need to be retained for legal retention periods (often up to 7 years). Where full erasure is not lawful, we anonymise personal identifiers instead.

2. Options

• Without logging in: Email privacy@vaeloai.in from the address on your account. Include your full name, school name, and role (student / parent / teacher / staff).
• While logged in: Use the form below to file a formal deletion / anonymisation review request. School principals and management are notified via the audit log for review.
• Immediate self-delete (eligible roles): Signed-in users who are not the last Principal of a school may permanently delete their login from Settings → Account (API DELETE /api/account/delete).

3. What we delete or anonymise

• Login credentials and profile display name/email (where legally permitted).
• Optional profile photos and personal messages where retained only for the user.
• Academic/fee rows may be retained in anonymised form so school ledgers remain auditable.

4. Timeline

We aim to acknowledge verified requests within 30 days. Complex school-ledger cases may take longer while the Data Fiduciary (your school) confirms retention requirements.
